One Week Left to Apply for the Francophone SLIPTA Auditor Training Workshop in Dakar!
The African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) reminds you that applications close in just one week for the upcoming SLIPTA Auditor Training Workshop in Dakar, Senegal.
The Stepwise Laboratory Quality Improvement Process Towards Accreditation (SLIPTA) is a flagship programme developed by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO-AFRO) and implemented by the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) to strengthen the quality of public health laboratories across Africa.
ASLM is pleased to announce the SLIPTA Auditor Training Workshop, based on ISO 15189:2022 and the SLIPTA Checklist Version 3 (2023). This intensive 5-day training combines theoretical learning with simulated audits and feedback to prepare participants for effective SLIPTA auditing.
Training Structure
- 3 days of theoretical training
- 2 days of simulated audits and feedback
- 100% attendance and successful completion of a final qualifying exam are required
Please note: Certificates will not be issued to participants who miss any part of the training.
Post-Training Requirement
Following the workshop, participants must complete three (3) supervised SLIPTA audits (national or regional), supported by their respective countries or organizations. A letter of financial and audit participation support is mandatory.

- Administrative training fee: USD 1,600 (payable to ASLM)

Candidate Selection Criteria
Ideal candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
- Prior training on ISO 15189
- Experience implementing ISO 15189 requirements
- Availability to participate in required post-training audit internships
📌 Class size is limited to 24 participants. Countries and organizations may nominate multiple candidates, but applications must be prioritized.
